Jake Picking is an American actor who was born on March 2, 1991, in Germany. Rock Hudson is his most well-known character in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Hollywood (2020).

Jake Picking was born in Germany while his father, an American Army officer and West Point graduate, was stationed there (though some claim he was born in Massachusetts). He was brought up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. At New York University, Picking played on the wing for the New York ice hockey team.

Over the ensuing years, Picking frequently made an appearance in cinematic projects, but typically in supporting roles. He participated in the 2016 production of the play Goat, which examines physical and psychological abuse in the context of American university fraternities.

Nick Jonas’ Brett suffered maltreatment at the hands of Picking’s Dixon, the sadistic oath master. The same year, he portrayed the Boston Marathon bomber in the thriller Patriots Day. In this scene, he played Sean Collier, a policeman who is shot by bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
